Wellness and what it means to me

The internet is awash with people promoting wellness and mental health, and look, I am another one!

But I am really focusing on the challenges of those who are either reaching the end of their "traditional" career and looking forward to retirement and life after work, or for those who maybe have been fortunate like me in finding some degree of financial independence but face a rather ironic challenge of "what now?"

The freedom to do what you have always dreamed of is for many a bumpy road. Many of us will have focused on the financial, but not the psycological. So when the novelty of new found freedom and relaxation wears off, there can be a feeling of not being useful, not achieving, not feeling important.

That happened to me. I had become so wrapped up in my corporate world and working for my employers that I actually forgot about me, and what I wanted out of life.
